Thank you for taking time to visit my page. I'm Mike Taylor, a welder by trade and wood hobbyist. Take your time and look around. Let me create a timeless, wooden gift for that special person your life.
Mike uses a lathe to create bowls, platters and vessels. Our charcuterie and cutting boards are also handmade. The majority of our wood products are finished in their natural color and polished with a food grade wax. We love the natural beauty in wood and prefer to let that natural beauty shine.
At Taylor Woodworking & Gifts, we desire to provide you with quality, handmade gifts that give you a tangible connection to a special time or event in your life.
Over time, your wood product may dull. You can use wood butter or butcher block wax which is a combination of bee's wax and mineral oil to bring back the original luster of the wood. Simply use a clean, lint free rag to rub down the wood. You can allow the wood butter to sit for several hours to overnight to allow the wood to absorb the oil. Follow with wiping off any excess wood butter with a clean, lint free rag.
Products used for serving food can be washed with warm, soapy water, pat dry and allow to dry thoroughly (overnight). Follow the same process above with the wood butter to allow the wood to absorb the oils and wipe of any excess wood butter. Be sure to purchase a wood butter that is food grade safe.
Don't allow the wood product to sit in water.
Don't place the wood product in the dishwasher.
Don't place hot items on the wood product.
Do use your wood product!
